Mâcon Rouge  - Domaine Guerrin & Fils

Terroir : The terroir is located on a granite and sandy soil that Gamay enjoys so much. Full exposure East on low hills, maturity is medium to late.

Winemaking : After a manual harvest and sorting in the vineyard, the grapes are put in concrete vats for a carbonic maceration of 8 to 10 days. During this period, pumping over to the air is carried out morning and evening to gently extract the aromas, tannins and colors. The grapes are then pressed using the pneumatic press. Aging lasts about 8 months in concrete tanks and oak barrels, the wines are slightly filtered before bottling.

Tasting :  This wine with intense aromas of fresh fruit expresses notes of raspberry, cherry, blackberry and a very light spicy touch. Once in the mouth we find its crunchy side with always these aromas of red fruits. On the structure side this wine is very supple, without aggressive tannins, we appreciate it for its pleasure and gourmet side.

Food and wine combinations : This Red Macon can be enjoyed on all red meats, it is the ideal companion for your cold cuts or grilled meats.

Drinking recommandations: It is eaten in its youth for its freshness and can be kept 4-5 years.
